Sabino

Sabino telling his story with Ana translating

In 2007, Sabino was a 57 year old man with significant aortic insufficiency in need of aortic valve replacement. His health was rapidly declining and we were granted an expedited medical visa to bring him to Boston. Once again, The Ray Tye Medical Aid Foundation provided the finances and arranged the cardiac care at Tufts Medical Center. That month, Sabino underwent open heart surgery and received an artifical valve, which should last a lifetime. Sabino will remain on blood thinner medication and has his blood checked regularly. Sabino has returned to his large family in Flores, and now owns and operates a local business.
