We are thrilled to share the news that Ana (Hernandez) has received a U.S. visa for 10 years! Although we’re biased, we cannot think of someone more deserving.
This evening I talked with Ana, and we’re both excited with the news, and looking forward to the day she visits. Little discussion was spent before Ana began explaining that she was attending a holiday school event with one of Esperanza’s students. Unfortunately, no family members were willing/able to be present and Ana’s insight and empathy shined, knowing the importance for this little girl. Ana took the initiative to take her to the performance, be her supportive audiance and call us to offer “back up support” so that we could share our own words of encouragemnet.
Last night I spoke with Ana, and she had another one of Esperanza’s students staying over night. This young boy is having a difficult time in school. We had arranged for tutoring but it was unsuccessful. Ana has once again taken it upon herself as a personal goal to have this child succceed and be given the chance of a brighter future.
We are incredibly indebt to Ana and all that she gives to others. Our organization would not exist without her. Our hope for Ana is that she is fulfilled and appreciated for all that she does, and we hope that we (and others) adequately express it.
